optimistic vs suppression
the opposite meaning of optimistic would be pessimistic.
have you try combining optimistic with suppression? two words, same plane, but different paradigm.
so, can being optimistic be consider as suppression? viewing a glass half full instead of half empty, is consider optimistic. however, not saying the glass is half full or empty, does it make the whole world of a difference? honestly, it's doesn't. at the moment, it could.
sometimes is not easy to be optimistic. always looking at the glass as half full, telling yourself that there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. it's somehow like telling yourself a lie. when you know you will walk out of darkness anytime soon. nevertheless, we live by lies all the time. which is not a good thing.
on the other hand, it's much easier to suppress. holding back everything; your anger, your opinion, your urge to whack that person's ass. 3 deep breaths is all you need. if you're really good, 1 will be sufficient. no need to think, don't have to waste energy.
ignoring the emotions and things happening around, pushing those thoughts into your deepest conscious. it's still in your body, you mind knows it, it's still in there. at least, we don't need to lie to ourselves.
in a nutshell, prefer being optimistic? or just suppress all your feelings and thoughts? well, it's always good to strike a balance for anything. in this case... you'll be the judge. =)
still around
